Brighton will hope to get back to winning ways when they welcome a free-falling Leicester City at the Amex Stadium. Mr. Bulister, your go-to source for football match previews and betting tips, previews the Sunday afternoon clash between the Foxes and the Seagulls.
Brighton
Brighton saw their unbeaten run in the Premier League come to an end on Tuesday night when Fulham condemned them to a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage. Lewis Dunk scored an agonizing own goal before Aleksandar Mitrovic scored his 100th goal in a Fulham shirt. Alexis Mac Allister cut the deficit to half from the penalty spot, but Graham Potter’s side did not find an equaliser afterwards.
The South Coast side will still be confident ahead of their Sunday game as they host a Leicester City side that lies at the bottom of the table. Brighton can also draw inspiration from their excellent home form that saw them win three of their last four matches at the Amex Stadium.
Danny Welbeck will expect to return to the starting lineup after watching on from the bench on Tuesday. Tariq Lamptey is in contention to make his first Premier League start after returning from a long injury layoff. Levi Colwill will hope to make his full debut in front of the Amex Stadium crowd.
Leicester City
Alarm bells are ringing around the King Power Stadium as Leicester City find themselves at the bottom of the league after five rounds of Premier League action. On Thursday night, Leicester failed to trouble a Manchester United side that has experienced its fair share of problems this season.
The pressure is piling over Brendan Rodgers, and another disappointing result at the Amex Stadium might extinguish the traces of faith the Leicester board has had in him.
Leicester have made their first and only signing of the window on deadline day by bringing in Wout Faes in a £15 million fee. The Brighton trip should come too soon for the defender. Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey will hope to return to the starting XI.
Mr. Bulister’s Prediction
Even the most optimistic Leicester City fans would not be much hopeful of a win against a well-organised Brighton team. Brighton are the favourites in this tie. But a desperate Leicester City might dig deep to grind out a draw. Mr Bulister predicts a 1-1 draw.
