Leeds United find themselves in the top six of the Premier League table before welcoming Everton at Elland Road on Tuesday night. Frank Lampard’s Everton did not taste defeat in their last two Premier League outing, but they are still winless in the league. What are the top football betting tips experts saying about the struggling Toffees’ prospects away at Leeds? Can the Merseyside outfit register their first Premier League win this season? Or is the home side going to continue its excellent run of form?
Leeds United
Jesse Marsch had his doubters, but Leeds’ brilliant start to the season has helped the former RB Leipzig coach to win over the Elland Road crowd. The Peacocks have been electric under Marsch so far, having picked out seven points out of the possible 12.
However, Leeds did fall to a 1-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium. The Yorkshire outfit went to Brighton as one of the undefeated sides in the division, but a Pascal Groß strike drew the line between the two sides. But, there’s no reason for Leeds to feel insecure when they return to Elland Road for a midweek Premier League fixture against Everton. So far, they have played three matches at home this season, won all three, scored eight times, and conceded only twice. One of their home wins includes a 3-0 humbling of Chelsea.
Jesse Marsch should not be thrilled with his team’s performance with the Seagulls, but it’s unlikely he’ll make wholesale changes to the first XI. Patrick Bamford has returned from a groin injury. Still, he will probably play second fiddle to Rodrigo for the foreseeable future, considering the latter’s red-hot form in front of the goal.
Everton
Everton’s start to the new Premier League season has not been ideal, and most of their woes can be attributed to their lack of firepower. They have scored only three goals in the four matches they have played in the Premier League, and one of them was an own goal.
Neal Maupay has joined the ranks as an attacking reinforcement, but the Everton faithful is overly excited about signing a striker who has never had a prolific run in the division. Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray are the only two players in the Everton squad who have hit the target, and the Toffees might lose one of them in the coming days. Gordon is drawing strong interest from Chelsea. So, there’s a strong chance of him moving to London before the window shuts on September 1. If that happens, it will leave an even bigger hole in the Everton frontline.
The return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin could have come as a massive boost for Everton, but the striker will not recover from his knee injury before September. Neal Maupay might not start since he did not play a single minute for Brighton before his move to Everton. Dwight McNeil might return to lead the line, while Mason Holgate might miss out at defence after sustaining a knock.
Our Prediction
Everton will hope to improve as an attacking unit, but they might not get into the groove just yet. Leeds are in excellent form, and they will hope to put behind the Brighton defeat with an impressive home win over Everton. Our prediction is a 3-1 win for Leeds.
